My name is Laya Rajaram, I have been living in Texas since I was born. I am currently a rising student at Coppell High School. Apart from my academics, I have been a part of the school Choir team since Freshman year. Music plays a vital role in my life journey. In my junior year, I had the opportunity to work with Special ED kids that I really cherished and felt how fortunate I am in life! I also participated in DECA, a business club at my school since Freshman year and made District Level in 9/10th grade and State level in 11th grade. I am also the president of The Heart Hose Club which includes my peers from school and we tutor refugee children. I am also the Co-Founder and Activist for the Texas Branch of Global Girls Initiative. Global Girls Initiative is a Tampa based Non Profit Organization and their mission statement is to end the period-poverty once and for all. I am honored to collaborate with them to expand the mission in Texas. Our goal is to end period poverty by providing a free dispenser with period products for our schools in our district to use. I have built a team to work with and we will be installing the first dispenser in New Tech High School in our Coppell ISD, Texas.

 

Professional Experience:

Developscripts, LLC: Marketing Intern - Summer 2022

Developscripts (DBA Auctionsoftware.com) is a fully established software company, headquartered in Richardson Texas with fortune 500 customers. I was fortunate to be a part of the marketing team under the guidance of Mr. Mark Walpole, VP of Sales and Marketing where I could learn and master a few digital marketing tools like Mailchimp, Google ads and so forth. I played a vital role in updating their website with powerful SEO contents, designing the marketing campaign flyers and also participated in email marketing to reach the new and existing customers to increase and stabilize the customer base.

 

Dave’s Gourmet: Marketing Intern - Summer 2023

Dave's Gourmet had been leading the way in the hot sauce industry for the past 3 decades. Their portfolio includes a wide variety of sauces like Hot sauce, Olive oil sauce, and Pink Sauce. I am fortunate to be a part of their reputed marketing team as an intern. I had the opportunity to work under the direct supervision of the VP of marketing. My main contribution is to promote the products through SHAREASALE, an excellent affiliate marketing tool. Through SHAREASALE I market our products to the core customers in the industry and therefore bring new customers to our company.

 

Southern Methodist University: Researcher - Summer 2023

I got this wonderful opportunity to work with Dr Raj Sethuraman has been nothing but a privilege. He is the chair of the Marketing department at SMU and has contributed significantly in the marketing field through his publications of journals, books and many literatures. Under his valuable guidance, I and a few other researchers are collaborating to write a research paper in AI Marketing and in Digital Data Analytics Marketing and aim to publish in September 2023. We have been heavily involved in reviewing literature, other articles in the relevant field. We have also helped Dr. Sethuraman to create a professional website with a portfolio of all his accomplishments in the Summer of 2023.
